Abstract

One of the values ​​of character education is through instilling religious values. Mazra'atul Ulum Paciran High School is an educational institution that applies religious values ​​which have become school culture. The principal's strategy is well prepared to overcome problems of students' faith and morals so that the culture that is embedded can become a daily habit. The principal's strategy in developing students' religious culture requires stages, namely formulation, implementation and evaluation. The strategies are habituation strategies, exemplary strategies and partnership strategies. Supporting factors for the principal's strategy are adequate facilities, the support of the principal, educators, education staff and parents and the existence of supporting programs. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factors are students who lack discipline, the negative influence of the external environment and promiscuity as well as the influence of junior high school education which lacks understanding of religious values.
