Publication Ethics
Publication Ethics
Junela Conseils: Journal of Islamic Guidance and Counseling is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and academic integrity. The journal follows established principles of responsible scholarly publishing to ensure that all manuscripts are processed and published in a fair, transparent, objective, and ethical manner.
The publication ethics policy applies to all parties involved in the publication process, including authors, reviewers, editors, and the publisher. The journal does not tolerate plagiarism, fabrication or falsification of data, duplicate publication, inappropriate authorship, manipulation of citations, or any other form of academic misconduct.
1. Authors' Responsibilities
Authors are responsible for ensuring that submitted manuscripts are original works and have not been previously published or simultaneously submitted to another journal. Authors must provide accurate research findings and sufficient information to enable the work to be understood and, where appropriate, replicated.
Authors are required to properly acknowledge all sources and provide appropriate citations for ideas, data, and statements derived from other works. All individuals who have made significant contributions to the research should be appropriately recognized as authors, while individuals who have not contributed substantially should not be listed as authors.
Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest and comply with applicable ethical requirements for research involving human participants. Any errors or inaccuracies identified after publication should be promptly reported to the editorial team.
2. Reviewers' Responsibilities
Reviewers are responsible for conducting reviews objectively, fairly, and confidentially. They should evaluate manuscripts based on their academic quality, originality, methodological rigor, relevance, and contribution to the field.
Reviewers must not use unpublished information obtained through the review process for personal or professional advantage. They should identify relevant published works that have not been appropriately cited and inform the editors of any suspected plagiarism, duplicate publication, or other forms of academic misconduct.
Reviewers should decline an assignment if they have a conflict of interest with the authors, research, or institution involved.
3. Editors' Responsibilities
Editors are responsible for ensuring that manuscripts are evaluated objectively and based on their academic quality, relevance, and contribution, without discrimination based on the author's gender, religion, ethnicity, nationality, institutional affiliation, or other personal characteristics.
Editors maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and are responsible for selecting appropriate reviewers. Editorial decisions should be based on the reviewers' evaluations and the academic merit of the manuscript.
Editors must not use unpublished information from submitted manuscripts for their own research or personal benefit. They must also manage potential conflicts of interest and take appropriate action when ethical concerns or allegations of misconduct arise.
4. Publisher's Responsibilities
The Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM), Universitas Sunan Drajat Lamongan, as the publisher of Junela Conseils, supports the journal's editorial independence and is committed to maintaining ethical publishing practices.
The publisher provides the necessary support for the journal's editorial and peer-review processes and cooperates with the editorial team in addressing allegations of academic misconduct, corrections, retractions, and other publication ethics issues when necessary.
5. Plagiarism and Academic Misconduct
Junela Conseils does not tolerate plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, duplicate or redundant publication, unethical research practices, or manipulation of the publication process. All manuscripts are subject to editorial screening and, when necessary, plagiarism or similarity checking.
When evidence of serious academic misconduct is identified, the journal will investigate the matter and take appropriate action in accordance with accepted standards of publication ethics. Published articles may be corrected, retracted, or otherwise amended when significant ethical or academic problems are subsequently identified.
Through this policy, Junela Conseils is committed to promoting academic integrity, research responsibility, transparency, accountability, and ethical scholarly communication in the publication of research in Islamic Guidance and Counseling.
